Tubelite sustainable aluminum manufacturing

Aluminum Built for a Lower-Carbon Future

Tubelite sources aluminum with an average of 73% post-consumer recycled content — far exceeding industry norms. Our extrusions are manufactured using renewable-heavy grid power and returned scrap aluminum is 100% recirculated into new production, creating a near-closed-loop material cycle.

What Architects & Contractors Say

"

We specified Tubelite's curtain wall on a 12-story healthcare tower. The thermal performance data was immediately available, shop drawings came back clean the first time, and the field installation crew had zero fitting issues. That's the kind of supplier relationship we can build projects around.

"

We've used Tubelite storefront systems on 37 retail renovations over the past six years. The color chart accuracy is exceptional — the Champagne anodized we ordered for a flagship store matched the architect's sample perfectly, which almost never happens at this price point. The weatherstrip longevity has also been notably above average.

The Tubelite 14000 Series installation instructions are the clearest in the industry. Our apprentice installers were up to speed on the sill and jamb receptor details after a single walkthrough. On a 240-unit educational project, that kind of documentation quality translates directly to labor cost savings.

Technical FAQ

Answers to the most common specification and installation questions from architects, contractors, and project managers.

Ask a Technical Question

Tubelite thermally broken curtain wall systems achieve U-factors as low as 0.29 BTU/hr·ft²·°F when tested per NFRC 100 with a standard IG unit. Our polyamide thermal break design provides a minimum condensation resistance factor (CRF) of 60, making these systems appropriate for cold climates including IECC Climate Zones 5–7. Specific NFRC simulation reports are available by series upon request.

Replacement weatherstrip part numbers are keyed to the door series and door height. The Tubelite Hardware & Parts catalog — downloadable from our Specifications page — contains a cross-reference matrix listing every weatherstrip SKU by door model (14000, 16000, 22000 series, etc.) and installation location (head, jamb, sill, meeting stile). If your door predates the current catalog, our technical support team can identify the correct part from the original shop drawing number.

Yes. Beyond the 12 standard Tubelite anodized and painted AAMA 2605 colors shown in our color chart, we can accommodate custom color matches through our approved finishing partners. Custom color runs require a minimum order quantity (typically 5,000 lbs of aluminum) and a 6–8 week lead time premium. A physical color sample for architect approval is produced before full production begins. Custom Kynar 500® PVDF paint formulations are available for high-durability exterior requirements.

The Tubelite 14000 Series storefront installation manual is available as a PDF download from our Specifications page. It covers sill receptor setting, jamb anchor spacing requirements, head receptor installation, glass sizing, hardware preparation, and weatherstrip installation. The document includes dimensioned detail drawings for all standard conditions plus notes on fire-rated configurations where the 14000 Series is combined with a listed frame assembly.

Selected Tubelite storefront and curtain wall series carry Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA). Our Impact-Rated product line is tested to TAS 202/203 and meets Florida Building Code (FBC) requirements for High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) applications. NOA numbers and test reports are available on request; projects outside HVHZ in high-wind zones should refer to the structural load tables in each product's technical manual.
